  • You're using 'Bud' and 'good' in the same sentence. Does not compute, overflow, out of cheese error

"good old-fashioned" is more an idiom for "reliable standby" than for "excellent".

To a Budmilloors lager drinker, lambics, Flemish ales, and Belgian red ales (anything with sourness) would taste like something went wrong in the fermentation.

Also, a 1/2 barrel keg of Bud Lite ( US$121 ) or Rolling Rock ( US$85 ) is far more affordable than something more substantial. like Fuller's London Pride ( US$244 ).

  • It also need to be mentioned that even now, the BMC drinkers in the US (what I understand are known as 'lager louts' in the UK) outnumber craft beer aficionados by something like 100 to 1. Admittedly, most of them are drinking with the sole purpose to get blotto, and could not care less about the taste (but at the same time don't want to be seen as 'effeminate' for drinking wine or wine coolers - though spiked seltzers such as White Claw seem to be OK - and don't want to spend extra for harder spirits). To them, the Gouyasse's Belgian beer would just seem weird - though given the Macho 'Murican bias of the ODS overall, they would probably say the same if it were Stella Artois (which is hardly any different from Budwater, and made by the same company) just for being Crazy Furriner Stuff.

"Uhm, no, sir, neither Miss Mason nor Sun Wukong are accredited teachers. It's just that after the students they were originally here for graduated, they've been coming by to teach special lessons from time to time, and eventually Mrs. Carson gave up trying to stop them..."

I mean, if anyone is going to be intimidating to Rachel and Honey Boo Boo, one of those two (Ecila Mason and the Monkey King) are good candidates for it. Honey badger may not give a shit, but she recognizes a threat too big for even her to tackle when she sees one.

Rachel and Honey Boo-Boo won't be intimidated by the Monkey King.

He loves to fight, same as she does.

After him trashing her a few times, and saying to her, "you need to learn more skill", it might sink in. She's more likely to listen to someone who can beat her in a scrap.

This would be a vignette worth reading... :D

  • Nah, she wouldn't be afraid of the Monkey King. She'd think he was FUN. Even if he regularly beats her. Especially if he does. That just means she gets to try again harder next time.

Ecila, on the other hand... I don't see how those two would end up fighting, but if they did, Rachel would end up too confused to continue, most likely. Still not afraid, but more of an existential quandary of "what's the point, with this one?"

Granted, just because Rachel backs down, it doesn't necessarily follow that SHE'S scared. It may just be common sense, which she does in fact possess even if it doesn't get applied often.

It's just that anything she's likely to back down from will be something that scares the bejeebers out of most others.

It wasn't corrosive, so a polyethylene jug was good enough to hold the contents.
It was, however, contaminated with mercury salts, arsenic, and some other things you wouldn't want to consume.

(I keep imagining that if any of the various SM Abridged projects ever gets to Season 3, the joke will be that "Usagi doesn't like us talking about 'icky girl-love stuff' and asked us to always use 'cousins' as a euphemism when she's in earshot" or something like that. Also, this line is even funnier if you picture this as an exchange between two really butch-acting Poe boys.)

I confess I'm not getting the nature of Fantastico's misunderstanding here... probably because I'm not familiar enough with Texas accents to decypher the funektik aksent used here into a math pun.

I think there's a typo in the "knowin' who is" part and the intent was to ask "What the hell does knowin' who Rick is gotta do with this 'e' number?" Anyway, the joke is that Ferret's trying to teach him about Euler's Identity, but Fantastico is confused because he keeps hearing the phrase as "Oiler's identity" (which would be Rick Howser).

"It means I'm gonna rip Fantastico's throat out and take a dump down the stump, that's what it means!"

(OK, all I know about the Oklahoma Capitol Building's on-site oil rig is the name and why it got it - thanks to a recent Mrs. History Guy video - but I have a feeling that slut-shaming jokes about being 'drilled in a flower bed' probably exist. This would probably seem to be the height of wit to a certain Texan and his hangers-on, and even then I expect one of the others gave him the idea.

Note that while she did live in Oklahoma for several years as a child, living under yet another assumed name after one of her parents' less successful 'ventures', her father is currently living in Berlin, NH to be closer to her when he isn't elsewhere on 'business'. Her mother, by contrast, is in Wheeling, WV, in a certain lovely place called The Jug. Her new family home inspired her unfortunate choice of codename, Catamount. The fact that her family name is Boller doesn't help, either.

Wow, I went waaaaay to in depth about an OC I made up on the spur of the moment for a micro a couple of months back . I guess once a stupid dirty joke grabs hold of me, I don't let it go until I've driven it into the ground.)

Trance, yes. Both her original orm and her post tie warp/later seasons form. Though now that I think about it with a picture in front of me, her hair is braided not dreads

In the last season Trance is revealed to be the Avatar of a Sun.

  • You built your power armor to resemble a xenomorph from the Aliens movies.

OC, was who I was thinking, but any decent supergirl knock off would work. Little tinkering, some cybernetics...

Posture is important in prayer too. As well as mental attitude. You can't demand from your god and expect good results.

  • “Isn't he the quack-a-doodle that looks like Milburn Stone? Doesn't he call himself something else, but the media start calling him Doctor Quack Quack after he ran a foul with that Mischief woman? What is she? Hero, Villain?”

“Quack-a-doodle, Ran a fowl, Sarah? You had to go for the puns? That's cheap even for you. But, that's him, yes. And I have no idea what his real codename is, or what alignment Mischief holds to. Personally I suspect Chaotic Neutral, as she messes with both sides of the cape."
